1. Core commitments

• Taijinxunzhen does not create accounts. We never collect emails, phone numbers, or any identity information.
• All user content (cases, notes, tags, life events) lives only on your device (SwiftData on iOS / Room on Android).
• Our servers persist no user data. They receive only solar time, gender, and longitude for stateless chart computation, then drop the request.
• Names, birthplaces, notes, and tags never leave your device.
• Anonymous product interaction analytics are enabled (no user content of any kind) to help us improve. See §2.2.

2. Types of data

2.1 Case data you provide

The minimum required to compute a chart: solar timestamp, gender, longitude (optional, for true-solar correction), birthplace name (optional). These are stored on-device. The chart compute API sees them only within the request lifetime and does not retain them. Other fields (name, notes, tags, life events) are never sent to the server.

2.2 Anonymous product interaction data

To know which features are used most and where users get stuck — so we can prioritize what to improve next — we collect fully anonymized product interaction data:

• Screen views (e.g., open counts for Today / Library / Chart Detail)
• Action counts (e.g., case created / case deleted / compare started / check update)
• Device model, OS version, app version, system language, timezone (for per-version / per-platform breakdown)

Strictly excluded — any data of a user-content nature, including but not limited to:

• Names, notes, tag strings
• Raw birth times, latitude/longitude coordinates
• Note bodies
• Any identifier that could single you out as an individual user (no IDFA, no Google Advertising ID)

2.3 Screenshot import

When you actively trigger batch import from other Bazi apps, Taijinxunzhen reads only the screenshots you select and runs on-device OCR (Apple Vision on iOS / ML Kit on Android, models bundled — no network). Recognized fields enter your local database. The screenshots themselves are not copied or uploaded.

3. Cross-device sync

3.1 iOS — Apple iCloud

On iOS, cases and notes sync across your Apple devices through your Apple ID's iCloud Private Database (CloudKit). Data is encrypted by Apple under your account; the Taijinxunzhen team cannot read it. You can disable sync at Settings → Your Name → iCloud → Taijinxunzhen.

3.2 Android — Dynamic QR

On Android there is no cloud sync. Cross-device transfer uses the in-app Dynamic QR feature: the sender renders a rolling QR code; the receiver scans it via the in-app scanner. Fully offline, no network. Optional AES-256-GCM password encryption protects against screen capture.

3.3 Cross-platform (iOS ↔ Android)

Same Dynamic QR mechanism. Data never transits our servers.

4. Permissions

• Photo library / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — Only when you actively trigger "Screenshot Input" or "Data Import". We do not scan your entire library.
• Camera — Only when you tap the QR scanner. Released as soon as scanning ends.
• Network — Used for the chart compute API and anonymous product interaction analytics. No silent background uploads.

5. Third-party components

• GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) — city coordinates and timezones, fully offline.
• Google ML Kit — Chinese OCR on Android, bundled locally; no Google Play Services dependency.
• Apple Vision Framework — Chinese OCR on iOS.
• tyme4go / tyme4swift / tyme4kotlin (open source, by 6tail) — lunar conversion and solar-term lookup.
• ZXing — QR code generation.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your local data is fully under your control: uninstalling the app deletes all device data. On iOS, to delete the iCloud copy as well, go to Settings → Your Name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Taijinxunzhen → Delete Data. Because our servers retain nothing, there is no "account deletion" process — nothing to leave behind.

7. Children's privacy

Taijinxunzhen targets practicing astrologers and serious enthusiasts; it is not designed for minors. If you are a minor, please use under guidance from a parent or guardian. If you believe we inadvertently collected information about a minor (which should be impossible — we collect no identity data at all), contact support@taijinxunzhen.cn.

8. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced in-app or via a launch dialog. Minor edits follow the published version on this page. We recommend periodically revisiting this page.
